Where are the most frequently missed spots in your workplace?
Whether you have a cleaner or your staff take care of it themselves, do you know if these spots are being cleaned? We recommend creating a cleaning schedule to make sure these places are being cleaned. Some areas may not need doing as often as others which is why we recommend a schedule rather than the same task sheet for every clean.
1. Light switches - these are a high touch point and if you have various people opening up and closing each day, the spread of germs is vastly increasing. Add this to your regular cleaning tasks to minimise staff sickness.
2. Door Handles - these are also high touch points where germs will manifest and spread - these should be cleaned regularly, even more so when there is viruses and bugs amongst the team.
3. Bin - you may empty these regularly but how often are you cleaning them?
4. Skirting boards - the regularity of these will depend on how dusty of a building your offices are but you should also consider that insects and spiders will defecate on them and leave little black dots wherever they go. These dots are stubborn but they do clean off.
5. Picture frames - for the same reasons as above, consider how often these need to be cleaned.
6. Keyboards - many a time the keyboard will be lifted up and cleaned underneath however, the keys of a keyboard are an extremely high touch point for those who work in admin. Consider using an anti-bac spray on a cloth - we never advise spraying anything directly onto electricals.
7. Desk phones - these also accumulate dust and bacteria.
8. Soap Dispensers/hand sanitiser - Consider that you have shared bathrooms and if your dispenser is not handsfree, it is being touched with dirty hands.
9. Office chairs - These can accumulate alot of dirt and dust which if you have staff who suffer with asthma, is really bad for their health. We suggest a monthly hoover of fabric desk chairs (don't forget the back) The Kitchen/Canteen
10. The crumb tray in the toaster - when was the last time you emptied it? The could also be a fire hazard if left too long.
11. The fridge - consider that its not just the inside that gets used but the door handle! Also remove food that has been there too long to prevent bacteria growth and bad smells.
12. The kettle - antibac high use appliances often.
If you need a cleaner to take the stress out of your workplace and give you one less plate to spin, get in touch today. Stop the spread of germs and create a healthier, happier workplace.
